CYT’s Level 1 Technical Theatre introduces students to the behind-the-scenes artistry and craft that bring theatrical productions to life. Through hands-on experience and foundational coursework, students explore the core disciplines of stagecraft, including scenic design and construction, stage lighting, sound engineering, costume production, and stage management. Designed for beginner theater practitioners and curious creatives alike, this course emphasizes safety protocols, technical terminology, and practical problem-solving in a workshop setting. By examining how technical elements interact with performance to shape storytelling, students develop a comprehensive understanding of the collaborative process that turns a script into a fully realized live performance.
